It is a stone’s throw from South Africa’s world-famous Cape Winelands around Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek. Cape Town is also known as the Mother City in South Africa. It is also one of the most iconic cities in the world.

Franschhoek is a city in the Cape Winelands of South Africa. It was founded by French Huguenots settlers. It is a place to relax, stroll up or down the main street and take your time to have a look around.

Addo Elephant National Park // South Africa

The Addo Elephant National Park is in the Eastern Cape region of South Africa and is one of the country’s larger parks. The parks early years, during times of drought the park keepers fed the elephants on oranges from the local orange groves. Gradually the elephants became addicted to the taste of the fruit! This practice stopped along time ago, but the older elephants still remember the smell and have been known to reach into vehicles and get their favorite fruit!

Coffee Bay // South Africa

Coffee Bay is a small town situated on the Wild Coast of the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. It is located about 250 kilometres south of the city of Durban and has a population of 258 people. The town is named after the hundreds of coffee trees which grew from beans either scattered by a shipwreck or by plunderers. A holiday resort in Tembuland is located 80km south-east of Viedgesville. It can be reached via a turn-off from the N2 highway. The Mthatha River has its mouth at Coffee Bay.

Bloemfontein is the judicial capital of South Africa. It is also the capital of the Free State Province. Bloemfontein was founded in 1846 and now has a population of around half a million people. J. R. R. Tolkien, author of The Lord of the Rings was born in Bloemfontein in 1892.

Johannesburg // South Africa

Johannesburg, South Africa’s biggest city and capital of its inland Gauteng province, began as a 19th-century gold-mining settlement. It’s known for Soweto township, a sprawling jumble of African workers’ houses that was once home to Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. Mandela’s former residence is now the Nelson Mandela National Museum.
